Reviewer Guidelines

REVIEWER GUIDELINES

JDEP (Jurnal Dinamika Ekonomi Pembangunan) invites reviewers to provide independent, objective, and constructive assessments that support editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.

1. Acceptance and Conflicts of Interest

Accept an invitation only if you have suitable expertise and can meet the agreed deadline. Disclose any relationship that could affect impartiality. Contact the editor promptly if you need additional time or cannot complete the review.

2. Double-Blind Review and Confidentiality

JDEP uses double-blind peer review. The editorial office anonymises manuscripts before review and removes reviewer-identifying information from reports before sharing them with authors.

Reviewers must keep submissions confidential, avoid attempting to identify or contact authors, and obtain editorial permission before involving another person. Unpublished information must not be used for personal advantage.

3. Assessment Criteria

Please assess:

  • Originality: significance of the research question and contribution.
  • Literature: relevance of the theoretical foundation, references, and research gap.
  • Methodology: suitability and transparency of the research design, data, and analysis.
  • Results: clarity, accuracy, and consistency with the evidence.
  • Discussion: interpretation, limitations, and justified policy or practical implications.
  • Presentation: organisation, language, tables, figures, and references.

4. Review Report

Provide respectful, specific comments supported by clear reasoning. Distinguish essential revisions from optional suggestions. Recommend additional citations only when relevant to the research.

Include a brief overall assessment, major concerns, and minor comments. Report suspected ethical problems confidentially to the editor, with supporting evidence where available.

5. Artificial Intelligence

Reviewers must perform the scholarly assessment themselves. Confidential manuscripts must not be uploaded to generative AI services or used to generate substantive reviews. Any permitted language editing of the reviewer’s own report must protect confidentiality and be disclosed to the editor.

6. Recommendation and Revisions

Recommend Accept, Request Revision, or Reject, explaining the reasons. The final decision rests with the editor.

For revised manuscripts, assess whether the authors have addressed previous comments through appropriate changes or reasoned explanations. Submit reports through JDEP’s online system and maintain confidentiality after completing the review.
